Our house is 38 years old, and the Chimney had never been touched.  One spring about 10 years ago in the spring we had wildlife reproducing just above our fireplace damper. Luckily that problem resolved itself. Other homes in the neighborhood had sprung partial or full chimney caps over the years. For the past few years I occasionally would find pieces of flue tile on the driveway. It was time for inspection and maintenance and a cap.
2 years ago I got a quoted for a cap and a flue liner for the oil burner from a local vendor but dragged my feet because the price seemed out of line. Finally got around to getting some more quotes recently, looking for vendors on Angies list. From those I thought Full Spectrum looked the best and I also requested a quote from someone a neighbor had used and recommended.
Both new quotes were competitive with each other and about 40% less than the first quote.  I was impressed that Shawn used a drone to look around the top of the chimney rather that getting ladders off the van to climb up and look at it. When Shawn presented his quote for the oil burner flue liner and cap he mentioned he would not recommend using the fireplace due to its deteriorated flue tiles and a fire box that was not properly/completely parged. ( I never heard that term either) There were all kinds of gaps and no smooth transition to the flue tile.  Although we really never used the fireplace more that 1 time per year for ambiance, I wanted it made right so it would not come up as a problem during a pre-sale home inspection in the future. I had Shawn back to fully inspect the fireplace flue and quote the additional work. We decided on the "cement" liner rather than a rectangular stainless flue tile liner because it would maintain the largest flow area and were already at or near the limit.
So last Saturday Shawn and Mike installed a stainless flue liner for our oil burner flue, installed two coats of cement liner for our fireplace flue, parged the firebox, added a full size stainless steel cap that matches the size of the chimney to keep wildlife out of both flues, and repaired the chimney crown. They were highly conscientious and respectful of our property, kept it clean and left no trace.  They communicated what they were doing, had done and were about to do appropriately throughout the process.
They both worked a solid 10 hours straight at my house to get the job completed in 1 day. They worked cheerfully and stayed focused on the job the entire day. Their discussion was always about getting the job done in the most efficient way possible. They were a pleasure to have around. Aside from being two of the nicest gentlemen we have ever met, Shawn and Roger are extreme professionals. We needed a chimney rebuild for our 1860 home. The quote was extremely affordable, they were promptly at our home each day, they worked diligently from 8-5 each day, their craftsmanship is exemplary, and upon leaving you could never tell they had been here, cleaned up spotlessly!! If there were a 100 star rating, I would give them 300, Full Spectrum Chimney Services is the very best in their field, as a nervous and skeptical consumer I can say without hesitation, Shawn and Roger absolutely cannot be beat, don’t even bother wasting your time with anyone else. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you boys, well done!!
Addendum: 9/19/26, We had Full Spectrum Chimney Service LLC back today for stage 2 of our chimney rebuild. Shawn returned this time with Nick, to install a chimney liner and cap now that the chimney has been rebuilt, I cannot emphasize enough the old school talent, skill and diligence of these two craftsmen, once again the work done was done quickly and meticulously with the highest quality, and they are 100% true to their quote. Transparently I just hired Shawn to do an inspection this coming Tuesday. Likely will need some work done as well but will wait to get Shawn’s POV before moving forward with anything. I’m leaving a pre-emptive 5 star review because when I called I got great customer service, follow up communication and a quick appointment scheduled. Before calling Shawn I had another company come to the house who used an IPhone to “inspect” the chimney and quickly explained I had an emergency repair needed to get up to code that would cost 5k which was a massively inflated quote for a job that may or may not need to be done.  The Chimney sweeping/repair industry is less regulated than it should be but Shawn’s team is honest and has the expertise needed to make the right honest recommendation.

Shawn and Roger were amazing. Shawn came out on time for estimate and very honest and reasonable. Came up with terrific plan to fix chimney and install new large cap. Removed a section of bricks that was no longer needed and pointed were needed as well. Order came in quickly and Shawn scheduled us right away. Showed up on time and he a Roger worked very hard all day long in the 96+ degree temperature today. Excellent work and super clean afterward. He even made sure to use booties over shoes when he came in to check the flu, and filled in the corner of a step for me while here.
